Brett reminisces…on Sunset Junction

“Sunset Junction time again and not a minute too soon! Ok I’ve only ever been once, but it counted for at least 1.5/2 for sure, we really made that place our …own.
I performed with my band The Donnas, it was our first show in a long time because we were in the middle of recording at Conway studios, where days and weeks mingle and breed to create a time no clock can mess with.
Anyway, I remember the sound was crazy on stage, and I was in studio mode, ie no sun, no lights, no witnesses, so the mic stand felt like a Boa Constrictor in my grip and the audience looked like a jury. Sure enough that feeling disappeared as soon as the blurry faces became clear and I remembered that we were amongst friends and family. The show took on a life of it’s own ending in a chant “Back to the mansion! Back to the mansion!” which was a fav joke of ours at the time.
My hope for this year is we’ll skip straight to the ‘show taking on a life of it’s own’ part, and that I’ll acquire a mansion, or the use of a mansion between now and August 27th. I have faith in the individuals, I have trust in the whole, and I have hope for the unknown factors that toy with our temperaments daily! Let’s make it gOOd!!” – Brett

The Stripminers are currently inking an indie deal for a couple collector 7″ vinyl records with…we’d tell you, but – you know.
The first one being a very, very special limited Sunset Junction Issue…100 only! We are just starting out and want to mark our first time at what’s become a landmark LA Festival in style.
Which songs? Brett & Paul are thinking “Movies” and… let’s make that a surprise. If you’ve seen us play you know we have a lot of music to choose from.
…and if you haven’t seen us - how’s Sunset Junction in LA work? Say 3 o’clock Saturday Aug 27th – over on the Bates Stage- Come Holler!
Or sooner - Vegan Beer Fest II @ The Roxy Saturday afternoon June 25th, maybe?

Hey Gang,
That’s right, marauding hordes invading rock clubs! GANG! The Stripminers have pulled the ripcord and the Rock And/Or Roll commenced May 14th at Alex’s in Long Beach!
But we’re not done….May 18th, June 25th and August 27th have also been named as invasion dates! No matter how you like your Rock And/Or Roll we got what ales you!
